Congratulations Mia Dyson!

by Marg Hutton
24 October 2005

Readers will be pleased to hear that last night independent artist Mia Dyson won her first ARIA for the best blues and roots album released this year for her CD Parking Lots.

One song on this album, 'Christmas Island' concerns the SIEVX tragedy and relates the story from the point of view of one of the survivors - Sondos Ismail, whose three young daughters Zahra, Fatima and Eman drowned when the vessel foundered.

Mia Dyson has kindly allowed us to stream this song. You can listen to it here.
