Kepolisian Resor Rote Ndao, Nusa Tenggara Timur, menangkap 47 imigran gelap asal Timur Tengah yang berlayar menuju Australia untuk mendapatkan suaka politik.

         "Ada 47 imigran gelap yang diamankan di perairan Rote," kata Kapolres Rote Ndao Ajun Komisaris Besar Polisi Hidayat, Jumat.

         Dia mengatakan, 47 imigran gelap yang ditangkap tersebut, terdiri dari laki-laki 45 orang, perempuan dua orang semua dewasa. Dari jumlah itu, 16 orang berasal dari Sudan, Somalia 27 orang, serta warga negara Yaman, dan Palestina

         Menurut Hidayat, kapal yang ditumpangi para imigran tersebut, berangkat dari dari Kendari, Sulawesi Tenggara sejak 8 Desember 2013. Kapal itu sempat masuk ke perairan Australia pada 13 Desember 2013.
